Dr. Corey Sheffield

Senior U.S. Admissions Advisor

Dr. Sheffield is an admissions expert with more than two decades of experience guiding student-athletes and first-generation, Asian, and broader BIPOC students into selective and highly selective U.S. colleges and universities. At AAA, he helps families navigate the full U.S. admissions journey—from academic planning and testing strategy to school list building, essays, and interview coaching—so student-athletes can compete confidently in the classroom and on the field.

Before joining AAA, Dr. Sheffield led college access initiatives at College AIM, KIPP Through College, and Atlanta Public Schools, where his students earned offers from institutions including Duke, the University of Pennsylvania, Georgia Tech, Brandeis, Rhodes, Carnegie Mellon, and Goucher. He has designed comprehensive college-readiness curricula and trained access coaches at scale, driving near-universal application completion and expanding opportunity for underrepresented students.

A specialist in funding strategy, Dr. Sheffield has helped students secure competitive financial aid and scholarships—such as The Gates Scholarship, the Asian & Pacific Islander American (AAPI) Scholarship, the Posse Foundation, and numerous Asian community-based awards—building pathways that help students enroll and graduate with minimal or no debt. He also forges strategic relationships with colleges, universities, and scholarship foundations to open doors and sustain outcomes over time.

At AAA, Dr. Sheffield brings a data-informed, student-first approach: aligning academic rigor with athletic goals, clarifying timelines and KPIs, and translating complex U.S. admissions and scholarship processes into clear, actionable steps. His mission is simple—empower student-athletes to reach the right-fit U.S. programs and thrive on campus, in competition, and in life beyond sport.
